Optional escrow through an independent partner

For larger or first-time deals, buyers and sellers can choose to have payment held by a licensed third-party escrow company until delivery is confirmed.

Important: CropListing is a listing and introduction venue. CropListing is not a bank, escrow agent, broker or law firm and never holds buyer funds. Escrow and contract services are provided by an independent, licensed escrow partner under its own terms. Escrow partner integration is being finalized and is not yet live.

How it works

  1. Agree on terms. Buyer and seller agree on product, quantity, grade, price, delivery terms and an inspection window.
  2. Request escrow (optional). Either party can choose escrow. The partner verifies both parties' identities.
  3. Buyer funds escrow. The buyer pays the escrow partner, not CropListing and not the seller.
  4. Seller delivers. The seller ships or releases the crop under the agreed terms.
  5. Buyer inspects. The buyer confirms receipt within the agreed inspection window.
  6. Funds released. The partner pays the seller. Disputes are handled under the partner's dispute process.

Fees

Escrow fees are set by the escrow partner and shown to both parties before any money moves. CropListing does not add a hidden markup.

Contracts and legal help

The partner can provide standard purchase-agreement templates. CropListing does not give legal advice; for complex deals, talk to your own attorney. PACA-covered produce transactions keep their PACA rights and obligations.

FAQ

Is escrow required? No. Many buyers and growers pay directly on terms they already use.

Does CropListing guarantee payment or quality? No. Escrow protects the payment flow under the partner's terms; it is not insurance on crop quality.
