Privacy Policy

This policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY] ("CropListing," "we") collects, uses and shares information when you use CropListing.com.

Information we collect

  • Farmer accounts: name, farm name and role, email, phone, county, state and ZIP, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and listing content including photos. We remove location (GPS/EXIF) data from uploaded photos.
  • Buyer inquiries: name, company, buyer type, email, optional phone, and the details of your request.
  • Call requests: name, farm, phone, optional email, location, crops, preferred call time and language.
  • Consent records: for each consent to calls, texts or marketing email: the exact wording shown, its version, the date and time, the page, your IP address and browser user agent, and any later opt-out. Calls may be recorded, with notice at the start of the call.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security, rate limiting and basic analytics. We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. [PLACEHOLDER: list any analytics or advertising tools if added.]

How we use it

To run the marketplace (display listings, forward inquiries, review listings), to contact you about your account and listings, to call or text you only where you've consented, to prevent fraud and abuse, to improve the Service, and to comply with law.

How we share it

  • With other users: listings show your farm name, county and state, but not your email or phone. When a buyer sends an inquiry, we email it to you. Your email is visible to the buyer only if you reply. Buyer contact details in an inquiry are shared with the farmer they contacted.
  • Service providers that host the site, deliver email, and place or record calls and texts for us (for example our hosting provider, email provider and voice/SMS platform), under contracts limiting their use of the data.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the Service.
  • Business transfers such as a merger or sale, subject to this policy.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Your choices

  • Change your contact preferences anytime in your account, or use our opt-out page. Reply STOP to any text. Say "stop" on any call. Use the unsubscribe link in marketing emails.
  • Ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@croplisting.com. We keep consent and opt-out records as long as needed to honor and prove them.
  • California residents: you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. [COUNSEL: confirm CCPA applicability thresholds and required disclosures.]

Security and retention

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls and hardened storage. No system is perfectly secure. We keep account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, and consent/opt-out records for at least [5] years. [COUNSEL: confirm retention periods.]

Children

The Service is for adults in the agricultural trade and is not directed to children under 13.
